FPA Releases the Flexible Packaging Industry-Wide Converter Information Report

The FPA Flexible Packaging Industry-Wide Converter Information Report is a composite view of the flexible packaging industry. Through the corresponding Industry-Wide Flexible Packaging Converter Survey, the association is able to gather meaningful industry data from FPA non-member converters. The expansion of the scope of financial and economic information collected provides the association with the means to verify FPA information pertaining to various aspects of the flexible packaging industry.

The Report includes the results of the Industry-Wide Flexible Packaging Converter Survey, which are combined with FPA member converter data from the FPA State of the Industry Survey. The combined survey results include information from 86 FPA members and non-members, identified flexible packaging sales revenue of more than $13.5 billion and represent approximately 63 percent of the estimated 21.8 billion dollar flexible packaging industry. Participating non-member converters have estimated revenue of $2.3 billion.

The Report details flexible packaging industry sales by end-use; provides a breakdown of final flexible packaging structures as a percentage of sales revenue; notes the short – and long – term flexible packaging sales and volume growth expectations; provides insight into converters’ top ten issues for 2006; examines the structure of the flexible packaging industry for the past ten years and provides an overview of the 86 participating converter companies.
