Emerging Leadership Council

Mission

The mission of the Emerging Leadership Council (ELC) is to establish a network of future leaders to drive issues and opportunities that will have a long-term impact on the advancement of the U.S. flexible packaging industry.

The ELC works to accomplish these goals through its Education & Recruitment Committee and its Advocacy Committee. The Education & Recruitment Committee works to build a sustainable future for the flexible packaging industry by attracting and developing future leaders through recruitment and education, while providing impactful resources to raise awareness of critical industry issues. The Advocacy Committee provides a voice of advocacy for the flexible packaging industry by working with lawmakers and promoting responsible packaging that supports circular economy principles. Governance of the ELC is managed by the ELC Executive Committee with oversight by FPA. ELC members may be considered for service on the ELC Executive Committee after serving as an active ELC member.

Participants in the ELC are nominated for a two-year term by leaders within their organization (generally a company’s Primary or Secondary FPA membership representative). The ELC accepts nominations twice a year, in conjunction with the Annual Meeting and FlexForward® Conference. The ELC Executive Committee reviews and approves or denies nominees. Participation in the ELC is limited, so nominees may not be accepted. By submitting a nomination, your organization and appropriate decision makers commit to supporting the nominee’s participation in the ELC with the time and financing required for this commitment, including but not limited to:
