How Packaging Engineers Can Unlock AI’s Superpowers

During my recent visit to Michigan State University’s School of Packaging, I made an off-hand comment that, in 2008, when I saw the first Iron Man movie, I knew then that I wanted my own J.A.R.V.I.S. That stands for “Just A Rather Very Intelligent System,” which was the main character Tony Stark’s advanced artificial intelligence assistant. Well, we sort of have J.A.R.V.I.S. today. Our AI is still in its infancy, but that means it will only get better from here, right? It will, but only if we work to make it better. As a packaging engineer, you need to know if you can trust the tools you use. I think the more accurate packaging knowledge an AI has, the better you’ll be able to trust it. And then use it to do your best work.
