How to Build Strategic Partnerships With Higher Education Institutions
As an academic member of the Flexible Packaging Association (FPA), I use its online resources, weekly Industry News Bulletin, and FlexPack VOICE® magazine to enhance my food packaging curriculum at Washington State University. These materials help me teach current industry disruptions, market innovations, growth rates, and structural shifts across the sector. Additionally, I rely on FPA publications to mentor my students as they prepare for the annual FPA Student Flexible Packaging Design Challenge. FPA acts as a vital bridge between theoretical education and real-world commercial application. By partnering with academia, the association ensures that higher education evolves alongside the rapid pace of modern business. Like FPA, other trade associations could support academic institutions through five primary pillars.
