NC State Announces New Packaging Education Program

Coming from a family of educators, William A. Singleton III, CPP — Director, Global Packaging - Innovation & Sustainability & Lab Operations at Mars — was the perfect host to introduce the first new packaging education program in 25 years during Pack Expo 2026. In Raleigh, North Carolina, NC State is developing a Sustainable Packaging Program that is working to be ready for students by Fall 2027. Engineering is also a focus, along with research. The value to industry is filling the talent pipeline, which is needed for sure. Initial student body will be around 15 students in the first year, growing over the first 4-year Bachelor of Science (BS) program to 100 students.
