FPA Sends Letter for a Veto Request of S.2515 to the Honorable Phil Murphy, Governor of New Jersey

The Flexible Packaging Association (FPA) is writing to urge you to veto S.2515, as this legislation establishes aggressive and onerous post-consumer recycled (PCR) content standards which are presently underdeveloped and overly broad. S.2515 was aimed at generating new end markets for recyclable materials but instead establishes the most aggressive and oppressive PCR standards in the nation. FPA members are leaders in the field of sustainability and remain fully committed to increased use of recycled content in flexible packaging, but these overly burdensome standards set arbitrary precedents that could have serious deleterious effects across our industry.
